Kathy Phillips is the Program Director and evening announcer for the New Lite 105.7. Kathy has been working in radio for 23 years, she would like to say after a misspent youth, but in reality she got into the industry right after high school in Tacoma, Washington. She worked at several stations around the state, in Puyallup, Long Beach and Longview, Washington, before moving with her family to Juneau, Alaska in 1995. She covered news for KINY radio there for nearly 3 years before once again packing up and heading to Anchorage in 1998.
Kathy worked for several radio groups in a variety of capacities, before landing at Tati Broadcasting in 2007, where she worked weekends on The Breeze. A couple of years later, Kathy is Program Director for Lite 105.7, The Breeze 87.7, and AM 1080 KUDO. In addition to covering morning news for our sister station Movin 104.9 and KUDO, Kathy also co-hosts a one hour local show with Christy Harvey of the Center for American Progress, Monday – Friday at 3 pm on KUDO. She rounds out her busy days playing lite rock classics and today’s favorites from 7 pm to midnight on Lite 105.7.
